Getting New Perspectives Helps to Know Yourself Better

Different experiences in our lives shape us who we are. Great people crave rich experiences and not luxurious things. Because these experiences give them new perspectives.

Just like to understand a cube completely, we must look at it from all the different angles, otherwise we would mistake it for a square. Similarly, to understand a situation, a person, or a place better we must look at and analyze it from different perspectives.

How to get new perspectives

To get a new perspective, sometimes do the exact opposite of what you always used to do.

  1. If you live in a posh residential colony, try spending a day in the slums.

  2. If you earlier had an organized workspace, now do the exact opposite and work with a messy workspace for a day.

  3. If you earlier had a fixed routine, try something dynamic and flexible, and unplanned now.

  4. If you earlier traveled first class, try economy or unreserved class now.

  5. If you earlier went by car to your Office, try taking public transport or try walking or take a completely different route to the Office.

  6. If you are a morning person and always wake up early, try spending a sleepless night now.

Takeaway

Getting a new perspective on a topic, place, person or anything helps us see the same thing in a different light. That's what helps us grow and not only understand others but understand ourselves better.

Getting new perspectives in life is something all of us must aim for.

That's exactly why I write a weekly newsletter called Kaleidoscopic Perspective where I share-:
1) Life-altering Life-Lesson
2) Positive Feel-Good story to change your perspective of the world.
3) Book/Podcast/Video recommendation challenging your pre-existing beliefs
4) Quote/Poem for you to ponder
